When
July 2019
In July 2019 the Netherlands was enriched by the second mono-brand store opening of the exclusive Swedish watch brand Daniel Wellington. A stone’s throw from to the main entrance of the beautiful new Hoog Catharijne mall in the center of Utrecht, this unique and grandiose brand store, with its high-end and detailed finish, invites consumers and busy travelers inside to equip their wrists with their chic and stylish watches.
Merkenbaar in close collaboration with Daniel Wellington ensured that the rich palette of materials, colors and textures that form the brand experience were applied all the way from the floor to the 7-meter-high ceiling. Subtle details such as custom made skirting, wall paneling and the entrance portal were carefully crafted and installed in this bustling location.
The real eye-catcher of the store, the larger than life slat construction to the walls and bulkhead of the store, was custom made and installed by a team of specialists who also added the finishing touch of elegant bronze edging in an intriguing pattern.
Merkenbaar accompanied the project from the first site visit & meeting with the landlord in May 2019, through installation of the hoarding, the build process and all the way through to handover and post-opening snaggings in July 2019. Our skilled team of technicians, carpenters, shop fitters, project managers, logistics, back office and account managers ensured that this project surpassed expectations and opened right on time.
At one of the prime and most eye-catching spots in the brand new Hoog Catharijne shopping mall, located adjacent to the beating heart of all train traffic in the Netherlands, this gem of a retail opportunity became available for Daniel Wellington and Merkenbaar was challenged to turn around the space as it was left by the previous tenant to a bright, warm and inviting retail store.
