The first mono-brand store of the Purewhite brand was set to open it's doors in Bataviastad Outlet Center in the summer of 2019. After several years of close cooperation with Purewhite / Ballin Amsterdam at several editions of the fashion fairs Premium (Berlin) and Modefabriek (Amsterdam), Merkenbaar was challenged to captivate and further build on the brand experience that was earlier created for these important European trade fairs. We created a a concept design and with a palette of effective materials and textures to form the core of the raw and industrial brand experience. From extra-large concrete look floor tiles, black powder coated steel & mesh, faux concrete treatment of fixtures, high-end LED luminaires and not to forget, the large eye-popping, custom made, illuminated cubes that hover above the shop floor as magic, intriguing highlights, all blend to be the brand shopping experience that pulls in the passing consumers from the boulevards of this shopping environment.
The team from Merkenbaar presented the store design in early 2019 and accompanied the project from the first meetings with the landlord, through the build process and all the way up to to handover and post-opening snaggings. The store unit was delivered as an empty shell and hence formed the perfect blank canvas to create the new retail formula for the brands. Everything from heating/cooling, electric installations, A/V tech, lighting, interior walls, floor & wall coverings to fixtures were scaled and made to fit for this premium location. Concept development and A to Z project management are some of the core competences of Merkenbaar that came into play during this outstanding project.
